Creative H5 Review - Finally A Gaming Headset That DOESN'T Suck!

Time to do the Creative H5 Review and when Creative initially asked me to take a look at their new H5 headset, I thought 'oh this is going to be another mediocre 'gaming branded' headset', but to my surprise it was actually so good to the point where I started comparing it to my audiophile headphones around my house.

I thoroughly enjoyed the comfort and sound coming out of the H5s and the build quality of the headphones also surprised me as well. The unit features removeable earpads and a detachable boom mic which will allow this unit to be used as a convenient portable as well, and it is very easy to drive with 32ohm impedance at 118db/1mw.
The sound could be descriped as neutral but I like to call it a 'full' sound where nothing was missing and the bass and mids were forward and the treble was balanced. Overall great sound signature and one that gamers will have no problems listening to for hours.

The included mic was built well and was sensitive which allowed it to be used on any device and be heard loudly and clearly, though it did certainly lack warmth which made it sound less desirable than something like my $30 vmodaboompro.

Overall though this is a great headset that will do it all for someone who is looking for a solid headset for gaming with their friends or just being a great portable for someone travelling (as they leaked very little sound too being almost fully closed).
