Lisa Gade reviews the Dell XPS 14 laptop. Dell calls this an Ultrabook, though at 14" and 4.6 lb., it's a bit out of that bell curve. The XPS 14 fits right in with the XPS 13 Ultrabook and the new Dell XPS 15 laptop in terms of esthetics and excellent build quality. It has an aluminum casing with a magnesium palm rest, silicone clad bottom and it all fits together perfectly. The machine is available with Intel Core i5 and i7 ULV CPUs and Intel HD 4000 graphics. NVidia GT630M dedicated graphics with 1 gig DDR5 VRAM is optional. It has two USB 3.0 ports, HDMI, mini DisplayPort, gigabit Ethernet, a backlit keyboard, dual band Intel WiFi and Bluetooth. The price starts at $1,099. It now ships with Windows 8, though we review it with Windows 7.
