Lisa Gade reviews the Dell XPS 15, 2014 revision with 4th generation Intel Haswell CPUs and optional NVIDIA GeForce GT 750M graphics. The XPS 15 is one of the few ultraportable powerhouse laptops with full mobile CPUs rather than slower Ultrabooks CPUs, and it weighs 4.4 lbs. This is a 15.6" Windows 8.1 machine with your choice of full HD or QHD+ 3200 x 1800 gloss touch screen displays and it's available with quad core i7 CPUs, making it ideal for serious computing needs like video editing, 3D work and compiling large programs. The laptop has the usual XPS look with a metal lid, carbon fiber bottom and soft touch black interior with backlit keyboard. The price starts at $1,599, but the more desirable model with quad core CPU and QHD+ display is $1,999. Our model with a 512 gig SSD and bigger battery sells for $2,349.
