Dusty PC vs. Clean PC Wind Tunnel & Thermal Benchmark: Years of Dust

We're testing the thermals and fan airflow (CFM) performance of a dusty CPU cooler vs. the same coolers cleaned, including use of our fan flow test chamber and thermal test bench.

Today's benchmarking marks the first official deployment of our flow testing chamber, which our viewers have taken to dubbing the "wind tunnel," and so we have a few methodological notes in the video. That said, until we debut full-on fan testing, we won't go much deeper with methodology. This is just a one-off benchmark piece, so we've explained enough to provide assurance to accuracy for this content. For thermal testing, we're following our standard CPU cooler testing methodology, which is detailed in depth below. As an additional note, all testing was done without remounting the cooler, so we didn't have to deal with different mounting pressures or pastes (but we did fix the pressure). Multiple test passes were run and averaged, as usual. PC case fan testing is of the NZXT 140mm X63 stock fan, mounted to the 140mm Kraken cooler filled with dust. We also have a medium-level dust thermal test on the X62 280mm cooler.
