The Boring Company's tunnel under the Las Vegas Convention Center is shaping up to be a disappointment. The convention center desperately needs better transit, with crowds from conferences like CES meaning it can take an hour by bus or taxi just to get from one side of the event to the other. Digging a tunnel under the halls relatively cheaply is impressive, but then using it to drive a circuit of Model S cars that will likely move less than a thousand people an hour? It feels like a waste of a tunnel.
