The Pixel 6 will have enhanced cameras and a redesigned industrial design, but the main feature will be a new mobile processor, Google's first. The Pixel 6 will use Google's "Tensor" SOC instead of Qualcomm Snapdragon processors, as most Android devices do. According to Google, this is an AI-focused semiconductor that was developed in partnership with the companies who make their machine-learning-focused TPU boards, which accelerate AI work in datacenters. Enhanced video and photo performance, including multi-sensor HDR, real-time subtitles and translation, and improved voice control, should all be possible with the Tensor SOC.
