Lisa Gade reviews Huawei’s extremely compact and light 13” Windows 10 Ultrabook, the MateBook X. It weighs just 1.05 kg /2.2 lb. and is 12.mm thin. That’s similar to the 12” Apple MacBook but Huawei improves on that formula with a larger display, deeper keyboard and full Intel 7th generation Core i5 and i7 CPUs. The laptop is available with 8GB DDR3LP RAM and your choice of a 256GB or 512GB PCIe NVMe SSD. There are two models, priced at $1,099 and $1,299.
The MateBook X has a 2160 x 1440 IPS display with a 3:2 aspect ratio like Microsoft Surface products. A backlit keyboard, two USB-C ports and a compact USB charger are standard. Huawei also includes their pocket-size MateDock that adds HDMI, USB-A, VGA and pass-thru charging. Get it on Amazon here: http://amzn.to/2vJHKUb .
