For a long time, the iPad mini has been the best compact tablet available, and the 6th edition maintains that position. The $499 slab has received a much-needed design upgrade, which boasts a "all-screen" design with an 8.3-inch Liquid Retina display, a power button with TouchID, enhanced cameras with Center Stage compatibility, and USB-C charging. All of these improvements, together with compatibility for WiFi 6, 5G, and the second-generation Apple Pencil, make the iPad mini seem like a miniature iPad Air. However, the mini retains its particular appeal: it's all about size for this iPad, and there's no better alternative for people who know an 8-inch tablet would suffice.
