Elephant Electronics' Marscat, a robot pet cat meant for people who can't have a live cat in their house, is reviewed. This robo-pet is undoubtedly charming, and it evolves in response to your interactions. Is the Marscat, however, worth the exorbitant asking price?

Taking care of this adorable robot is much easier than taking care of a real cat. It is not necessary to feed it. You don't have to clean up icky kitty feces or mop up the little intestines of whatever creatures they kill and drag into your house. If you pay more for the dock, the Marscat can even charge itself.
However, robot pets aren't without flaws. Although it purrs if you pet it, this Elephant Electronics cat isn't fluffy. Stroking it, on the other hand, feels a little like petting a kitchen appliance.
