Lisa Gade reviews the smaller, cheaper Surface tablet for mid-2018, the Surface Go. The 10” tablet has an IPS 1800 x 1200 touch screen that also supports the optional $99 Surface Pen, and it can be turned into a mini-laptop via kickstand with the $129 optional Surface Go Type Cover in colorful Alcantara (black fabric also available for $99). The Surface Go runs Windows 10 in S Mode (free upgrade to standard Windows 10 Home 64 bit is available via the Windows App Store) on the dual core 1.6 GHz Pentium Gold 4415Y processor. It’s priced at $399 with 4GB RAM and 64GB eMMC storage and $549 with 8GB RAM and a 128GB NVMe SSD. It has a Surface Connect, USB-C port, headphone jack and a microSD card slot.
