This is a home surveillance system that's unique in that it's completely wireless. Not only do the cameras wirelessly connect to their base station to stream or record video over your network, but they're battery-powered. Most Wi-Fi-based security cameras require a power adapter to function, and still must be plugged into the wall. The Netgear Arlo cameras each use four CR123 batteries that can last up to six months before they have to be replaced.
