PCMag Live for Thursday, May 1st is hosted by Alex Colon and Jill Duffy.
In our Headline News segment, Alex and Jill talk about the new developments on SnapChat. There's a new button on the chat screen that turns blue to let you know someone is reading your message. Users can start a video call from there by holding their finger down to keep the video call active. Moving your finger up or down will switch between front and back cameras. Text and video will disappear when done, just like everything else.
Also in the news, Google has added a new Parking Card feature that will help you find your car. IT happens in the background if you have location services enabled. The parking card shows the address of your vehicle with a map to show you how far away your ride is. Seems useful if you're parking on the street somewhere, but will need to get pretty granular to find your car in a big parking lot.
Lastly, F8, Facebook's annual conference is in effect. Facebook Connect will soon allow an anonymous authentication. When an app asks you to login with Facebook, you'll be given a list of what you want to share, including your email address.
Jill answers today's Reader Question where she's asked about the app purchasing trends of women compared to men.
The One Cool Thing today is the Withings Pulse O2. This fitness tracker adds a new twist to what's being measured when you work out. Watch the video to learn more.
