Here is the best of the best when it comes to video mount microphones. These are the two that I bought and I thought I would share with you some more appropriate microphones for the job of recording from a video camera (however keep in mind clip on microphones are awesome, the one I am using here is a cheap clipon). These are the rode video mics which are fantasic microphones. I can highly recommend them.

If you have any questions please let me know. Overall I recommend the Videomic pro for smaller DSLRs and if you want to use the onboard audio, although the video mic is cheaper and sounds just as good imo, so I would recommend that if you have a bigger DSLR of a video camera.

The mic used at the start is my $5 microphone plugged into the DSLR EOS M.... not bad eh? lol
