Lisa Gade takes a first look at the Samsung Galaxy Note Edge curved screen Android smartphone at Samsung Unpacked 2014 in New York City. The Note Edge will ship in Oct. 2014 and it has a 5.6” quad HD 2560 x 1440 Super AMOLED display that works with touch and the included Samsung S Pen. 16MP rear camera and 3.7MP front camera. Menu commands, news updates and more are available on the side 160 pixel wide display. It will run on the 2.7GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 quad core CPU with 3 gigs of RAM and 32 gigs of storage plus microSD card slot. It has dual band WiFi, Bluetooth, NFC, GPS with GLONAS and it runs Android 4.4 KitKat with Samsung’s usual TouchWiz software. Beyond the curved display, it’s essentially the same as the Galaxy Note 4.
