While I was traveling in the US, the Sony Xperia 1 IV was released, claiming increased specs, new gaming features, and improved photography capabilities. Here's a detailed look at the Sony Xperia 1 IV before I write my review, but is the Mark 4 for anyone besides diehard enthusiasts, especially with that horrifying UK asking price?

The Oppo Reno 8 line, which includes the Reno 8, Pro, and Pro Plus smartphones, was introduced this week. With Oppo's Marisilicon X NPU on board, these mid-range smartphones should be good for gaming and perhaps deliver reliable camera technology once more. Hope the Reno 8 Pro Plus and company arrive in the UK soon for a thorough evaluation.
