Lisa Gade reviews the verykool SL5000 Quantum affordable unlocked Android 4.4 KitKat smartphone. This is a $229 GSM world phone with LTE 4G for both AT&T and T-Mobile. It will work on any GSM carrier for 2G and 3G when traveling overseas as well, but it’s not compatible with Sprint or Verizon (they don’t use GSM). The SL5000 has a 5” IPS 854 x 480 display and it runs on the 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 CPU with Adreno 305 graphics and 1 gig of RAM. It has 2 gigs of available internal storage and a microSD card slot. It has WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS and a removable 2000 mAh battery. The Quantum competes with the Moto G first and second gen phones.
