This chapter concentrates on the many habitats that make up Nepal's Royal Chitwan National Park, and in especially on the Indian rhinoceros, the park's most famous species. The Indian rhino is less well-known than its African counterparts (white rhino and black rhino), but it is equally threatened by indiscriminate poaching for its valued horn, which is said to have medical and aphrodisiac characteristics.
