In our broadband world of media gatekeepers and keymasters, free to air broadcast television is a weird anomaly. It's a relic of the 1950s, something from a more socialist age. Aereo tried to leverage that to make some subscription profits off this dwindling free resource, and it got slapped down. So it just filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in a sad little blog post with lots of wistfulness, but no hope.
