The Poco C40 inexpensive smartphone is unboxed along with a hands-on evaluation of the camera technology, gaming performance, and several flaws. The Poco C40 is tragically a janky mess with inadequate optics and a JLQ CPU (who?) despite my fondness for the reasonably priced Poco phones.

If you're looking for some fantastic value mobiles around £200, have a look at my coverage of the top budget handsets of 2022 so far.

On the plus side, there are a few bright colors available, and the battery life is very good. Sadly, that's all there is. Whatever you're doing, the Poco C40 is slow, and games like PubG and CODM are difficult to play. With any luck, this will be the last time a JLQ chip is utilized.
