In the past when I have talked about 'snappiness' of a CPU some people have replied 'lol' or 'omegalol', but some know exactly what I was talking about and today I have tested both the i7-8700k (@ 5GHz) and the Ryzen 7 2700X (@ 4.2GHz) with the same memory clocked to 3400 CL16 and with the same Gigabyte Gaming 7 Variant (respective to their platform) boards, same SSD and Same GTX 1080 Ti. So this is as apples to apples a comparison as you can get, enjoy.
