I just finished testing win 7.1 vs windows 8.1 and then the beta of windows 10 was released (technical preview), so I thought, meh why not just test all these 3 OSes against each other in a battle royale with some gaming benchmarks (Battlefield 4 / Skyrim / Arma 3) / Adobe CS6 Premiere pro benchmark (rendering times) and a start up (boot) times test.

Specs:
5820k @ 4.2ghz / 3.3ghz cache ratio.
DDR4 Memory at 2133 default speeds.
GTX 970 at default speeds.
X99S SLI Plus MSI Motherboard

Ultimately there wasn't a whole lot between the 3 oses, however Windows 8.1 slightly edged out the other two overall I thought (however minor it was), Windows 10 definitely does look promising though and will obviously have the benefit of having direct x 12 (I will test that when a dx12 game is finally released).

I didn't test Crysis 3 as it didn't work on windows 10, however it was pretty much the same results with win 7 vs 8.
