The Asrock X99 Extreme6 may look just like another Extreme series motherboard on the surface (and so I initially thought), however after spending some time with the motherboard and testing out various components, it is clear that Asrock have definitely upped the anti with the Extreme6. Things like Nichecon Caps (even on the audio), Dual NICs, Onboard Power / Reset buttons, Dual Bios with a changeable switch make this board a standout in my opinion. Though the thing that impressed me the most was this had an impressive onboard audio solution - it had fantastic levels for cross talk, was very clear and crisp and best of all the Mic in and Line in ports work extremely well.

Moving onto the Bios and functionality, this is where the board shines, the bios was simple to use yet has all the features I could want from a bios (it even has the ability to update your bios from the net, which can save some serious time) and the board doesn't crash (unlike the Gigabyte and MSI solutions I have had come through here).

Though the power consumption was a bit higher than rivals offerings (most likely due to having 24 mosfets on the power delivery, and the adaptive voltage slightly overvolting). Though this isn't a big problem as the board still runs really cool. I also thought the cosmetics could use a touch up, though I really did like the Sapphire Black soldering mask that was used.
