** Level Information **

With the exception of the very end of the second chapter (A Red Letter Day) combat has been pretty much inexistent in Half-Life 2. Now that we got the crowbar we're ready to initiate some battles with the ruthless Combine.

The only problem is that it becomes rather clear for Gordon that fighting melee is the least preferred option, so we're given a pistol right at the start of this level.

Route Kanal is obviously ment as a baptism of fire to become habituated to the battle in Half-Life 2, which frankly feels entirely different as opposed to the GoldSource Engine. We're learned to use explosive barrels and the environment to our benefit for clearing enemies and threats.

We're at least not alone as plenty of refugees are there to guide us the way through the kanal to finally reaching the airboat which will lead to Black Mesa East, primary goal of Gordon Freeman.
