Lisa Gade reviews the HP Envy x2 13t, the 13.3” detachable Windows 8.1 64 bit 2-in-1 that competes with Microsoft Surface Pro 3 right down to the keyboard cover, metal casing and kickstand. The Envy x2 13t has a 13.3” 1080p IPS display that works with touch and the optional $60 HP pen (Synaptics technology). There’s also a 15.6” model priced at $50 less. The 13t we look at sells for $1,099 and it’s nicely configured with the Intel Broadwell 5th generation Core M-5Y70 1.1GHz dual core CPU with Turbo Boost to 2.6GHz and Intel HD 5300 graphics. It has 8 gigs of RAM and a 256 gig SSD, dual band Intel WiFi 802.11ac and Bluetooth 4.0. The tablet has front-facing stereo speakers with Beats audio. The $799 base model has 4 gigs of RAM and a 128 gig SSD. The detachable keyboard cover is included in the price and it has a touch pad and backlighting. The 13.3” Envy x2 tablet weighs 2.8 lbs. and 4 lbs. with cover.
