This chapter focuses on the various ecosystems that make up the Royal Chitwan National Park in Nepal, and particularly in its most emblematic species: the Indian rhinoceros. The Indian rhino is much less known than their African relatives (white rhino and black rhino), but it is also threatened by indiscriminate hunting for its prized horn, to which medicinal and aphrodisiac properties are attributed.
