A number of sources have suggested that Microsoft will give Windows 9 away for free for current Windows 8 users. The upgrade would work the same way Apple OSX updates do. Giving Windows away for free is completely antithetical to Microsoft’s corporate culture and history--but it could be absolutely essential to its future.
